Uses

1. We generally use simple future tense for the advice, opinion, comparison & possibilities.

e.g. मैं एक पत्र लिखूंगा। (Possibility)

    - I will write a letter.

      तुम मेरे लिए काम करोगे। (Opinion)

    - you will work for me.


2. These sentences are used to show Promise, Threat, Determination, Intention, etc.

e.g. हमलोग तुमसे अवश्य मिलेंगें। 

     - We will meet you. (Promise)

       तुम ये काम जरूर करोगे। 

     - You will do this work. (emphasize)

       वह तुमसे अवश्य मिलेगी। (Promise)

    - She will definitely meet you. 


3. To show the natural action of the future.

e.g. वसंत फिर आएगा।

    - Spring will come again.

      पक्षी अपना घोंसला बनाएंगे।

    - Birds will build their nest.

      हम खाएंगे और आनंद लेंगे।

    - We will eat & enjoy.


4. If a sentence starts with a conditional clause & time clause then the principal clause is present in the simple future tense form and the conditional clause & time clause is present in the simple present tense form.

e.g. यदि वह मेहनत करेगा तो वह पास हो जाएगा।

     - If he works hard, he will pass.

      जब तक राम नहीं आएगा वह नहीं जाएगी।

    - She will not go until Ram comes.

      जबतक मैं जीवित रहूँगा तबतक मैं वहाँ जाऊँगा। 

    - As long as I live, I'll go there.

                 or

    - I will go there as long as I live.

     जब मैं आऊँगा तब वह जाएगा। 

    - He will leave when I come.


Note:- Words that identify the conditional clause & time clause are if, even if, supposing, till, until, unless, before, when, after, as long as, as soon as, in case, etc.


5. We use present continuous tense for an action that occurs in near future.

e.g. मैं एक कार खरीदने जा रहा हूँ। (जल्द ही खरीदने वाला हूँ)

     - I am going to buy a car.

      मैं एक कार ख़रीदूँगा। (Here, Time is not fixed)

     - I will buy a car.


6. Important structures for future action.

* S + is/am/are + to + V1 + Obj. -> It is only used when the future action or event is pre-planned.

e.g. मैं जाने को हूँ। / मैं जाना वाला हूँ। 

     - I am to go.

      तुम लिखने को हो। / तुम लिखने वाले हो। 

     - You are to write.

S + is/am/are + about + to + V1 + Obj. -> It is only used when the future action or event start soon.

e.g.  मैं जाने को ही हूँ। 

     - I am about to leave./ I am about to go.
